Garlic Baskets

Garlic Baskets

Zimbabwean garlic baskets, also known as onion baskets or gourd baskets, are handwoven from Ilala palm leaves by women in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. These baskets, known for their unique, organic shapes and intricate weaving patterns, are not only decorative but also serve as a source of income for the women who create them. The weaving tradition is passed down through generations, with each weaver adding their individual touch to the design.
